About Cardinal Construction

Less than three years later, we completed another office expansion. What started out as a one-man operation, currently employs an office staff of five and field staff of 20-50.

Cardinal’s first job was a small commercial remodeling project. Upon completion of that project, Dick landed a residential home project and needed to hire his first employee. His first bonded job was for the City of Fond du Lac. He had to take out a mortgage on his house in order to secure a bond for the project. We recently asked Dick if there were any decisions that he made over the years that stand out above the others and he replied “Yes, the decision of going into business!” We are all truly thankful that he made that decision. He described the early years as the most difficult. “The interest rates were between 18 and 20% and it was very difficult to get work.” He must have found a way…

In 2019 Mike & Paul Duesterbeck became the New Owners of Cardinal Construction. With their drive and industry experience they look forward to continuing the long standing positive reputation Cardinal had developed in the Commercial & Industrial Contractor Industry  and being one of the Valley's Leading Building Design & Construction Firms.
